Goodbye BYU for 3 whole weeks!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Cortney and I are both done with finals and free free free!!! At the moment we are both packing and leaving to Idaho (Cortney) and St George (Janell) and then we will both be home at the end of the month! yay MESA!!!! So for 3 weeks we don't have to worry about anything school related! Thank goodness! We definitely need a vacation!  So goodbye BYU, goodbye icky cannon center, goodbye homework, and goodbye dorms! We are going on vacation! 

Temple Square Trip

This past weekend we got to take a break from studying and go to Temple Square with our ward! It was very fun! We traveled there on buses and saw the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial building! Then we got to walk around temple square and see the lights! By the end of the night we were freezing cold! It was insane! It was snowing SO hard and us mesa girls thought we would freeze to death!

Tumbling!!

Yesterday for our friend Amy's birthday we went to this place called power tumbling! It was SOO fun! They had a huge foam pit and a lot of spring boards and trampolines! We had a BLAST! Here are a few pictures of our adventure!

Turkey Bowl/ Holy war!

This past weekend we got to play in our wards turkey bowl! It was SOOO fun! Cortney and my team got second place! (the other team was a bunch of cheaters but I'm not bitter or anything!) Anyways, the first picture Cortney wouldn't look at the camera and the second she just wouldn't get in at all so enjoy the lovely pictures of me! (haha jk)

TWILIGHT!!

YES of course we went and saw Twilight! It was amazing! We all went expecting it to be horrible and super cheesy so we were pleased with how it was! Of course you can never make a movie out of a book that will be good enough but we enjoyed it still! Christmas decorations!

Ok we know that Christmas still isn't for a few weeks... ok maybe months, but we really wanted to put up our Christmas decorations since we wont be here for very long after Thanksgiving Break, because we will both be going home and spending it with family for Christmas! yay! This first picture is of our lovely lights! Didn't we do just an amazing job??

This next picture is of our window/lovely little Christmas tree! When we were putting up our decor we listened to Christmas music and drank hot cocoa (with the built in mallows of course-they are Cortney's favorite)

This last picture is of Cortney and I drinking our hot cocoa out of the mugs her mom got for us! (thanks Cortneys mom! your the best!) They are super cute and we LOVE drinking hot cocoa in them because its super cold here!!

Last home football game!

Saturday was our last home football game! We are SO sad! The games are so fun! During half time we went over to see Tyson open his mission call! Yay Tyson! He is going to be serving inCanada, Mandarin Chinese speaking! (oh last week we went and saw Blake open his mission call! He is going to Brazil! yay!). After we rushed back over to the game to finish watching BYU slaughter San Diego State! Go Cougars! Here are some pictures from our very last game(well until next year of course)!

HALLOWEEN!!!

Halloween was SOO fun! Cortney and i dressed up as Mario and Luigi! our costumes were so legit to! (thanks to her brother who got us our awesome hats/buttons/gloves/mustaches!). That night little kids came over to trick-or-treat in our dorm building! They were SOOO cute! We never see little kids anymore! After we went to a halloween party in our dorm buildings complete with food, haunted house, and dance party! After we went to a parking garage for a dance party with a ton of BYU kids! It was SO fun but crazy hot!

Pumpkin Carving!

Before Halloween we got to go to our friend Jessies house and carve pumpkins! It was SO fun! It was SO nice going to a normal house as weird as that sounds! Here are some pictures of our master pieces!!

Homecoming!

During October was HOMECOMING WEEK! It was a total blast! We got to do true blue football and alot of other fun homecoming activites! We also got to go to the homecoming dance which was a total blast! To start off our amazing homecoming weekend we went up the the mountains to a cabin! It was SO fun but SO cold! here are some pics!

After the game we rushed to get ready and then went bowling in the wilk! it was SO fun! after bowling we went to the dance and partied it up! later we watched a movie in cortney car (because of the crazy rules they have here) when it started snowing so we got out and danced in the snow! Then finally went home and crashed in bed! we were SO exhausted!

Getting Ready!

On Tuesdays after the BYU devotional cortney, kimber, and janell get ready together! We always have a blast on this day so we thought we would share a little glimsp into our amazing mornings! Here are some pictures of us making ourselves pretty! (not that we need it! hehe)

happy birthday janell!

Well today was my birthday and i just had to blog about the super amazing friends I have. To start off the lovely day kimber (my roomate) sang a very lovely verison of "happy birthday" to wake me up. Then when I went to my strengthening marriage and family class (which i have with Dana and Cortney) I found my favorite jamba juice (aloha pineapple) waiting for me at my desk! yum! Then after classes that day i came home to find my room like this...



Thanks cortney! I have no idea how she pulled this off because we are always together since we are roomies and she only had 1 hour to put it all together because her classes got out and hour before mine that day!

Then later when i thought my birthday festivities had come to an end i went down stairs to the lobby with Cortney to "hang" as she put it and all my dorm girls from my hall and my guy friends just "happened" to be there to sing me "happy birthday" and devour my lovely cake that marie and kimber made for me. Then my guy friends from my ward sang me "fall for you" by second hand seranade which just happens to be my favorite song right now.



Then Cortney and Dana took me out to cafe rio! yum! It was SOOOO good!
Anyways thanks girls for this special day! and of course thanks to my family who I love and of course remembered my special day! I love them tons and you girls too!

BYU- Go Cougars!

Well everyone, we finally made it here! Cortney drove her car up on Tuesday, I drove up with our good friend Kimber Woodruff on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Janell flew up Wednesday! It has been pretty crazy this week with Freshman Orientation. They definitely kept us on our toes with something planned for just about every minute of every day! It's been rather interesting since I don't see the Janell, Cortney, or Kimber very much, but I know that they are having fun over in David John Hall. But they can tell you more about that than I can.

Meanwhile I am having fun on my own in Hinckley Hall!! It's strange being surrounded by people that I have never met before, but then again it has its perks. After living in Mesa my whole life, it's so strange to not have a reputation following me! Nobody here knows that I was in the Top 20 or that I was the Laurel Class President. I get to act however I want and no one cares! Don't get me wrong, I don't act wild and crazy, but for once, it's just nice to not have that following me wherever I go. Anyways, that was my little bit of venting :)

Now on to business. My roommate's name is Kamarie Lindahl and we get along perfectly! There hasn't been any awkwardness between us, and she is really easy to talk to. We have had a lot of fun together meeting the girls on our floor and the people in our Y group (those are the groups we were assigned to for Orientation). Tonight, we have our first FHE activity and tomorrow we have our interviews with the bishopric to determine our callings! AHH! I hope I don't get called as a Sunday School teacher because I'm pretty sure I will have a nervous break down!

We have also had some pretty cold weather already up here! It rained last night and this morning and from what we can see, there already appears to be some snow up on the very tops of the mountains-something that we Mesa girls aren't too used to seeing! This weather is definitely a change from Saturday. It was SO HOT sitting in the stadium during the very first BYU football game of the season! It was so much fun and of course we won :) Go Cougars!

This is the Beast. Well that's what I think it should be called at least :) It's the Woodruff's big fifteen seater van. There was only one row of seats in the back and the rest was taken up by all of Kimber's stuff plus about four bags and a pillow from me!

We went to the service fair and decided to go to the "Stop and Serve" center located in the Wilkinson Center (or "The Wilk"). We were sooo good at looming those hats! The only awkward thing was those big glass windows. People just kept staring at us like we were animals in a cage or something!

My family came up on Thursday and left today. Here's little Jackson (don't worry, he live in Provo so he will be featured a whole lot more on this blog!) He has just barely discovered the joy of iPods :)

Even though we decided later that we didn't really like sitting so close to the field, our seats were great for one reason: they are right by where the football players enter the stadium. It was pretty awesome seeing them come out! By the way, our seats are only seven rows back, but in the future, I think we will sit with friends instead :)
